Registration to attend the World Congress for Railway Research (WCRR) 2022 is now closed.
If you would still like to attend WCRR 2022 there will be onsite registration on each day.

Upon receipt of payment, we will then issues codes with which delegation can register.

Q: When and where will the World Congress on Railway Research (WCRR) 2022 take place?
A: We are delighted to announce that WCRR 2022 will take place on 6 - 10 June 2022 at the ICC in Birmingham.
Q: Where can I find information on the venue?

Registration
Q: How can I register?
A: Please note, online registration for in-person attendance is now closed however, you are more than welcome to register onsite at the venue from Monday 6 June at 15:00. If you are already registered and would like to modify your registration you can do so at one of the Information Desks onsite, within he registration area.
Q: When will registration open?

Q: I am a student, can I register?
A: Yes, we are delighted to welcome students to WCRR 2022. During registration, please ensure that you select the Concession (Student) pass option. Please note, you will be asked to provide an image of your valid student card.
Q: What are the costs of the Congress passes?

Q: When do the early bird rates end?
A: Early bird costs are available for a limited time, ending on 25 February 2022. After this point the full Congress prices will begin.
Q: Can my partner/spouse also attend WCRR with me?
A: Yes, all Congress delegates are welcome to purchase a Partner Pass for their partner at £400 + VAT, this will include access to all Social Events (Welcome Reception, Botanical Gardens Reception and Gala Dinner), subject to availability, and to a programme of local activities. Partner Passes do not include access to the Congress sessions. To purchase a Partner Pass, please specify this during registration.
Q: Does the Congress passes include VAT?
A: The cost for all passes exclude VAT. VAT will be added to your total cost during the payment stage of registration.
Q: Can I modify my registration at a later date?
A: If you are already registered and would like to modify your registration you can do so at one of the Information Desks onsite, within the registration area.
Q:I have a registration code but have not registered in time, what do I do?
A: If you have a registration code but registration is closed, you will have to register onsite at one of the registration desks and provide the code you were given.
Q: Can I add my partner to my registration?
A: Yes, your partner can be added to your registration at any point before the Congress but cannot be added via the 'modify registration' function. Please contact info@wcrr2022.co.uk to request a partner to be added to your registration.
Q: I can no longer attend WCRR 2022, how do I cancel my registration?
A: Yes, you can request to cancel your registration by contacting the Event Delivery team info@wcrr2022.co.uk. If your request is approved, your registration will be cancelled.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: If you request to cancel your registration, and it is approved, you may be entitled to a refund pending on the date of cancellation. Please see below for more information on this.

Q: Can I transfer my ticket to a colleague?
A: Yes, tickets may be transferred to a colleague within 1 week of the event. Please see the full Terms and Conditions for more information.
Essentials Online (Virtual Offering)
Q: Is it possible to attend WCRR virtually?
A: Our Essentials Online offers a tailored programme of content and streamed activity for those who want to explore the world of rail research or those who have some involvement in rail research and want to further develop this. The Essentials Online Congress Pass includes:
• Access to approximately 300 research papers
• On-demand access to streamed content
• Live stream of keynote plenary sessions, professional growth sessions and masterclasses.
Q: How much is an Essentials Online ticket?
A: £400 + VAT
Q: Is Essentials Online suitable for me?
A: Essentials Online is aimed at early career rail professionals who are limited by the expense of attending in person but would benefit from specific elements of the programme to give them a taster of the industry and of the event content. It is not recommended for those in established rail careers who wish to access the full programme of content, sessions, exhibition and networking opportunities.
Congress Programme
Q: Can I get a discount on my Congress pass?
A: Discounts are not available on Congress passes so we encourage you to book whilst the early bird rate is available.
Q: Will there be opportunity to participate in technical visits during the Congress?
A: During the Congress programme, there will be opportunity for you to book to attend technical visits. Further information on this will be made available in the coming months via email. Once these are available you will be able to log into the system and update your registration by selecting 'Modify Registration'. Please note, technical visits are chargeable and all selections will be added to your total cost of registration. Any payment(s) you have already made will be reflected on the payment page.
Q: Will there any Social Events during WCRR 2022?
A: Yes, there are Social Events within the WCRR 2022 programme. These are included in the Standard and Concession Passes, subject to availability. During registration you can confirm whether you will be attending any of the Social Events. It is important that we have accurate guest numbers for these events in order to manage capacity. Therefore, if your intention to attend/not attend any of these changes post registering, please log into the system and update by selecting 'Modify Registration'.
Q: Can my partner attend the full Congress and Social Events?
A: Partner passes include access to all Social Events (Welcome reception, Evening social, Gala dinner), subject to availability, and to a programme of local activities (at additional cost). Partner passes do not include access to the Congress sessions. There will be a dedicated Partner Programme, which we are currently finalising. Further information on this will be made available in the coming months via email. Once these are available you will be able to log into the system and update your registration by selecting 'Modify Registration'. Please note, the Social Events are chargeable and all selections will be added to your total cost of registration. Any payment(s) you have already made will be reflected on the payment page.
Q: What does ‘subject to availability’ mean in reference to the social programme?
A: A full Congress pass to WCRR 2022 includes access to all Social Events (Welcome reception, Evening social, Gala Dinner). However, these venues have capacity limits. Whilst we do not anticipate reaching these limits, we will be monitoring registrations and will implement a waiting list when and if capacities are reached.
COVID-19
Q: When do I have to show my Covid status onsite at WCRR
A: Current regulations (updated 13.01.22) are that you must show your Covid status on the first day that you arrive onsite at WCRR 2022 and every 48 hours/2 days thereafter. For example, if you arrive onsite for the first time on Monday 6 June 2022, and stay for the duration of the event, you will show your status on arrival on Monday 6 June and Wednesday 8 June 2022. If you arrive onsite for the first time on Tuesday 7 June 2022, you will show your status on arrival on Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9 June 2022. Exhibitors arriving onsite on Sunday 5 June 2022 and staying for the duration of the event will show their status on arrival on Sunday 5 June, Tuesday 7 June and Thursday 9 June 2022. These regulations will be updated as and when Government and venue regulations change. Please keep an eye on our Covid-19 page for more information.
Q: Do I have to show my Covid status to access the Social Event venues?
A: The Welcome Reception is hosted at The ICC and therefore the regulations outlined in the above question apply. The Botanical Gardens do not currently have any restrictions in place. The Eastside Rooms require you to show your Covid status on arrival and wear a mask when moving around the building. More information can be found on our Covid-19 page.
